ELOQUII is BACK (and better than ever!)

 photo ELOQUIIISBACK.jpg
The plus size blogosphere is abuzz with the news that Eloquii has relaunched! If you're new to Eloquii, here's the short and sweet about the brand: Previously owned by The Limited, Eloquii, The Limited's plus size brand, was shut down due to corporate restructuring. Plus size shoppers everywhere were sad/angry/disappointed, and the original team behind Eloquii decided to take over and relaunch with cooler pieces than ever before! (I'm personally a fan of all the faux leather details!)

The company is now employee-owned, which I think is awesome. The coolest part? They'll be releasing new products in limited quantities every few weeks, so there will always be something new and fresh to add to your wardrobe. Can't wait to see where the brand goes! :D

Nordstrom Encore Fall Fashion Preview

I was so psyched to be invited to the Nordstrom Fall Fashion Preview, hosted by Marie Denee! I've been a longtime fangirl of Nordstrom (I was a Brass Plum girl growing up. :P), so I was stoked to see that they were reaching out and having a Fall Fashion Preview for plus size shoppers! The event was also at "my" Nordstrom (South Coast Plaza) during the Annual Sale, so, you know--I couldn't not go.

[ :: Rachel Pally dress :: Dolce Vita wedges :: Gogo Philip earrings :: Evans filigree shield ring :: Isabella Fiore bag :: ]

With the lady of the hour herself!

A few of my favorite looks!

Cornelius, Tulin, and Ashley Nell

With Jen Wilder of Cult of Cali! ♥

Ivory and Kena posing at the photo booth--so cute!

Love how cute these mini cupcakes were!

H&M+ is here!

I don't usually write much on plus size fashion news, but think this is definitely worth sharing...

H&M+ has finally launched in the US!

H&M's BIB (Big is Beautiful) line was recently revamped to HM+ and launched in the US! The line will include styles in sizes 14-24, and only be carried in select stores. (EDIT* You CAN in fact search online which stores will have it! Their store locator has a dropdown where you can filter which categories you want to search for.) I'm also expecting it to be available online when their US online shopping website launches in the fall.

In their own words, "Following the success of last year’s Inclusive collection, H&M was inspired to extend parts of the main line to include all sizes. So this Spring, H&M+ makes its debut – bright, colorful and stylish pieces that go effortlessly with your everyday wardrobe. Some of our favorite items include a silky color-blocked pink blouse, striped tunics and a versatile navy parka. With H&M+, we want to celebrate every confident and fashionable woman around the world!"

Here a few items that H&M has indicated will be included in their plus size line:

First impression? Cute. I really like the camel/pink t-shirt. So perfect for spring! The parka is kinda "eh" but I imagine that there will be some really cute, standout pieces. I can't wait to see what other goodies they'll have! Trying not to get my hopes up but I can't help it! :P If anything, it's about time someone gave Forever21+ a run for its money!

So tell me, will you be shopping H&M+ in store? Better yet, has anyone already seen the new stuff? I'm dying to know!

***UPDATE: The 3 stores closest to me will NOT be carrying the plus size line. Way disappointing. Just like Forever21, I'm thinking that they're placing the plus size line at smaller, lower traffic locations. So lame. Either way, I'll be out there this weekend to check out the line and I'll report back! :D Can't wait!

Crystal Renn Walks for the Chanel Cruise Collection

I love Chanel, and I love Crystal Renn. I do NOT love how they look together. Aside from the first outfit (which I actually kind of love) with the classic Chanel top, denim skirt, and OTK boots, the looks are sort of...atrocious. I mean really, Renn looks like a cross between a Victorian and a pirate in her third look. Not cool.

As glad as I am that Uncle Karl included a "plus size" model into his show, I think that the problem remains the same as with other straight-size designers who've featured plus models--lack of understanding. Clothes don't hug and skim curvy women the same way that they hug or skim rail thin models. The second look explains quite a lot--boobies! Clearly that dress would make much more sense on a chestless model. On Renn, it makes her look like she has man-pecs.

Anyway, Enough bashing. I suppose this should be considered a win for the plus-size community, but I'm just sort of unimpressed. Regardless, the following of Chanel's Cruise Collection looks really did wow me.

I think Crystal would have looked 350,000 times better in any of these 4 outfits.
What do you ladies think? Anything to get excited about?
