sweet spot

Curvy Girl Chic Plus Size Fashion Blog Sweet Spot
Because every girl needs a giant candy clutch in her life.

I have a total sweet spot for anything candy-themed. From my Kate Spade chocolate bar clutch to this MMM x H&M magenta monstrosity, I just can't get enough of the kitschy goodness. I also have a Juno-esque hamburger phone (thanks sis!), cheeseburger CD case, strawberry pillow, and numerous other items disguised as food. I just need a macaron iPhone case and I'll be all set! :D

statement piece

Curvy Girl Chic Plus Size Fashion Blog Statement Piece Outfit
I have a hard time explaining why I love what I love, but this outfit from a couple weekends ago is probably one of the favorite looks ever! There's something about the colors and print that just make it special to me. Continue reading...

I've been on the hunt for a mirrored print dress for what seems like a lifetime now, but nothing I found was ever exactly what I was looking for. The prints were either too floral, not in a color scheme I loved, or just really not my style (again, how to describe? lol). Imagine my excitement when this beauty showed up online! And since it takes me forever to post anything on this ol' blog, it's on sale now for $29. The hoarder in me wants to buy a "backup" just in case I ever spill something on this one, but I'll resist.

Having a white moment with this majorly amazing MYNT 1792 moto jacket! I'm in love with the gorgeous gold details, perforated body, and double zipper.

If you aren't familiar with MYNT 1792, you should definitely check them out. They have some gorgeous outerwear! In addition to the jacket I'm wearing, I'm also loving the Morris moto jacketand Nolita moto jacket. So chic and versatile.

Something about all-white outfits just pops so much, so I paired the jacket with my newest dress obsession, this blousy, cold shoulder dress from H&M's Conscious Collection. Next, I just need to find a pair of white heels and a clutch to make my transition into all-white-everything complete!

Is white on white something you guys are feeling for spring? I can't get enough!

Happy Tuesday! Thank you guys so much for the sweet comments on my last outfit post! I loved hearing your stories about your love for stripes! :D

I've been on a printed-everything-buying-frenzy and I'm majorly in love with this blazer! I adored almost everything from the Prabal Gurung for Target collaboration and was disappointed when it didn't extend into plus sizes as other Target collaborations have before. Still, I tried everything I had my eye on because you never know what might work, and I fell in LOVE with this blazer! I love how bright and colorful it is against my new favorite Torrid jeans (same jeans from the photoshoot! :D). These jeans, by the way, fit incredibly well on a variety of body types--I was amazed at how well these fit everyone at the shoot, regardless of body shape. It was like skinny jean magic!

Have any of you tried the Torrid Stiletto skinny jeans? Curious to see if they worked as well for everyone else!

I Am Torrid: Spring Preview and Blogger Event

Last month several bloggers and I were invited to Torrid HQ for their SS3013 Preview! I loved seeing the design process, from gathering inspiration to perfecting fit. We also got to style looks for a fun photoshoot with a couple of our favorite pieces! The images from the shoot were just released and I'm so excited to share them with you! :)

Okay really, the photographer was making me laugh. Hence the squishy face. haha. Obsessed with the London Calling shirt. SO soft and so perfect with jeans or shorts! Also, if you haven't tried Torrid's Stiletto Skinny jeans yet, you're missing out! They fit like an absolute DREAM.

Obsessed with this blazer! I wish they still had this color available. I want it! I'm also loving the scalloped detail on this top. It's on my to-buy list for Hawaii! :D

So tired of hearing the same plus size fashion don'ts cycled around everywhere. STRIPES ARE OKAY, YA'LL. Better than okay. They're awesome. Necessary. Essential. I'm obsessed, and frankly, sick of people saying plus size girls can't wear them.

I still remember being majorly bummed out as a kid when I was out shopping during a family trip in Taiwan (where everyone is tiny), and I was wearing one of my favorite striped shirts. Out of nowhere, my mom walked up from behind and told me I really shouldn't wear striped shirts anymore because I looked fat. The rest of that day I was so self-conscious I couldn't even focus on shopping. True story. Amazing mainly because I can't remember the last time something distracted me from shopping. Anyway, I wish I'd known then what I know now, because let's set this straight--I am plus size. I will be plus in a black dress, and I will be plus in a striped one. No amount of spanx, "slimming" colors, or fat-smushing-torture devices will change that.

Moral of this story? WEAR STRIPES. because they're awesome. and so are you.
