night lights

[ :: fair warning--photo heavy post for no reason other than the fact that i'm in love with this headband. :: ]

[ :: Gap shimmery top (which you totally can't see) :: F21+ skirt :: Gap wool moto jacket :: Torrid tights :: ]
[ :: F21 bag and shoes :: gifted LB bracelet :: scarf from Target :: Nordstrom headband :: ]

I just battled with my internet for an hour so excuse me if this post is kept short! All I really have to say is that I'm absolutely in love with this headband. I love anything with stars or bows, and I love anything that sparkles. Clearly, this purchase was a match made in heaven. :D I couldn't help pairing it with my F21+ skirt, which totally reminds me of a night sky. hehe.

Goodnight world! :)

one step forward, two steps back

[ :: Torrid dress turned sweater :: Gap plaid mini :: Torrid tights :: Matt Bernson boots :: ]
[ :: Banana Republic bracelet :: Asos jaguar necklace :: F21 bag :: ]

Don't hate me. I know I've been using the same bag for way too many posts now, but I love it! That, and I'm too lazy busy to dump all its contents into another bag. I need one of those bag organizers, lol.

Also, I'm a still so in love with this ridiculously boxy oversized sweater that used to be a dress (remixed here and here) It's perfectly ginormous and comfy and warm. :)

Alrighty guys, holiday cookie baking time! :D

Photos from a few days ago taken by my coworker who was showing me his fancy camera. I'm now plotting a plan to steal his awesome 50mm lens. Seriously.

Shopping Spotlight: Faux Fur Collars

Recently, I've been on the hunt for an awesome fur collar. I love the look of fur collars on clothing but want something that's detachable and can be used on everything! To me, a fur accent is the perfect Winter style accessory--both fabulous and functional! Also, if you invest in a timeless, high-quality piece, it will last you a lifetime. If you’re looking for a genuine fur piece without all the controversy, a great place to look for unique pieces is thrift stores—they usually have fantastic pieces at very reasonable prices.

I put together a few looks to show how versatile fur pieces can be--they really are perfect complements for day or night, whether you're rocking a fur snood with jeans, a tee, and a leather jacket, or dressed up with a floaty dress and sky-high heels!

Faux Fur Glam
This outfit would be perfect for a night out with the girls, or even a casual date! I can also see this transitioning flawlessly from a casual Friday at work to Happy Hour or a night out on the town.

Love Luxe Glam
I love how put together and luxe this look is—it’s the perfect outfit for a fancy date or event, and I love that the fur and the studded minaudiere balance out the sweetness of the ensemble with a little edge.

A few of my favorite faux fur pieces are below--What do you guys think??
Would you guys rock this look?

[ :: Forever21+ lace tank and faux leather mini :: Gap denim jacket :: ]
[ :: Jazz It Up necklace :: Matt Bernson wedges via Solestruck :: Forever21 bag :: ]

I bought this skirt the minute it hit Forever21's website (I just happened to already be on the website...lol.) It runs pretty true to size but actually loosens quite a bit when wearing, so if you are between sizes, I suggest sizing down. Also, the ankle boots were a Cyber Monday purchase when Soletruck's sale section was an additional 50% off! Amazing. I paid something like $90 for these $240 shoes! I love good deals. haha :)

The necklace is from Jazz It Up Accessories. The owner, Rachel, was sweet enough to offer me a piece to review and give away (which will be posted soon with more detailed photos!). It's a GORGEOUS Quartz and Czech glass necklace. Moreover, proceeds from her sales go directly to helping fund her adoption. How sweet is that? So, if you're still not done buying presents for all the ladies on your list, check out her shop--you're giving a gift to more than just one person that way! :)

Speaking of buying presents, time to get my holiday shopping done early(ish) instead of procrastinating until the few days before Christmas like I have the past few years! hehe?
Are you guys done holiday shopping for everyone on your list or are you like me (a serial procrastinator)? :D

Shopping Spotlight: Holiday Glamour

Nothing says the holidays like a little glamour and sparkle! I'm one of those people who really take advantage of the holidays to add a little (or a lot) of fanciness to my wardrobe. I've already started shopping around for the best holiday dresses for all my holiday events. These are a few that really caught my attention!

Asos Curve Exclusive Sequin and Jewel Embellished Dress: $147

I fell in love with this the moment I saw it! I love the color and how completely and totally covered in sequins and sparkle it is. How amazing would this look belted with black tights and booties and a sexy, loose updo?

Yup. I bought this one. It's a little on the short side but it's perfect over tights.  I love the scalloped hems and  rich color!
(Can you tell I'm really into navy right now? lol)

I'd pair it with a big stack of gold bangles and a sideswept 'do to play up the asymmetry of the dress!

Dorothy Perkins Peach Pleat Pearl Dress: $80

I love wearing white and off-white during the cold months. It seems sort of counterintuitive but there's something so perfect about a seemingly summery color styled for Winter that I love!

This dress would look AMAZING with sparkly shoes and a festive headband!

LOVE red. I rarely ever wear it but this is really the perfect holiday piece to transition from work to all those holiday parties!  Just a quick shoe change, makeup application, and jewelry swap can turn this piece into a stunning party dress!

I had to include this. It's just too sexy not to! Animal and bodycon. Genius.

Can you imagine how amazing this would be with some classic black pumps or a sexy red heel? I think I'd personally tone down the sexiness of it with a satin tuxedo jacket like the one I wore here.

I want this so bad! If it were slightly more affordable it would already be in my closet. I dream about wearing this dress with the perfect
over-the-knee  boots, messy hair, and a big, dark cocktail ring!

It's so shiny! And blue. :D This dress sort of remind me of something a lady would wear to Sunday tea with a little white purse and gloves. hehe. On the other hand, it's adorable, and only $24.80! It would make a super cute hostess dress, and would be perfect for dinner with the family!

What do you guys think? Are you guys as excited for the holiday season (and all the festivities and clothes that come with it!) as I am?? I'm sure you've all been eyeing something for the holidays!
